Rhenium is a refractory metal with a very high melting temperature (3186° C). Alloys of rhenium with tungsten have interesting material properties. Compared to pure tungsten, they have a higher recrystallization temperature, greater strength and ductility, and are easier to weld or solder. WRe alloys are often used as thermocouple wires. They are available in various compositions. Detailed information on the material properties, available dimensions and tolerances can be found in the following table or in the corresponding material data sheets.
