MoLa & MoY
[MoLa 0.03 / 0.3 / 0.7 | MoY 0.5-0.7]
MoLa and MoY are molybdenum alloys with small amounts of lanthanum oxide or yttrium oxide. Even additions of 0.03-0.7% by weight significantly increase the high-temperature strength and recrystallization temperature compared to pure Mo. The finely dispersed oxide particles act as barriers against grain growth and stabilize the microstructure. MoLa/MoY are preferably used where pure Mo is limited by grain growth and loss of strength - e.g. in furnace components, heating wires/ropes, furnace boats, filaments as well as pins and wires for lamps/coils.
